Nashville, TN – Traditions Health successfully completed two Joint Commission Accreditation Surveys at the Carrollton, GA, and Lawrenceville, GA branches and earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Hospice Accreditation.

The Joint Commission Accreditation Gold Seal of approval is the highest award a healthcare organization can receive. Each branch underwent a rigorous, unannounced onsite review. During the visits, a team of Joint Commission reviewers evaluated compliance with home health standards spanning several areas including environment of care, infection prevention and control, emergency management leadership, and medication management.

“I am grateful to our staff for their dedication to excellence and patient safety. These results are a testament to our organization’s relentless commitment to clinical standards of excellence – standards that are verified by one of the most trusted, rigorous quality reviewers in our industry,” says David Klementz, president, and chief executive officer of Traditions Health. “Congratulations to every member of the Traditions Health team on this outstanding achievement!”

The Joint Commission’s standards are developed in consultation with healthcare experts and providers, measurement experts, and patients. They are informed by scientific literature and expert consensus to help healthcare organizations measure, assess, and improve performance. The surveyors also conducted onsite observations and interviews.

“As a private accreditor, The Joint Commission surveys health care organizations to protect the public by identifying deficiencies in care and working with those organizations to correct them as quickly and sustainably as possible,” says Mark Pelletier, RN, MS, chief operating officer, Accreditation and Certification Operations, and chief nursing executive, The Joint Commission. “We commend Traditions Health of Carrollton and Traditions Health of Lawrenceville for their continuous quality improvement efforts in patient safety and quality of care.”
